Energy production

Therminol® heat transfer fluids from Eastman act as heat transfer media in many sectors of the energy industry, including solar power, waste energy recovery and biofuels. Our heat transfer fluids help optimize production efficiency in many alternative energy production applications.

We are committed to creating and working with sustainable technologies. Therminol illustrates our commitment to that goal. It can be found in processes such as generating renewable energy from concentrated solar-thermal power, waste energy recovery systems including organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems, biofuels manufacturing, and seawater desalination.

Therminol ensures even heat distribution. It also helps reduce deposits and contamination that could slow systems down. Our fluids help keep operations running stronger for longer.

Concentrated solar power

Therminol has been used in concentrating solar power plants since the mid-1980s. Keys to Therminol’s long life and reliable performance include consistent operation in daily temperature cycling, analytical support from your Therminol supplier and excellent thermal stability.

Organic Rankine cycle

Producing electrical energy by capturing waste heat from various sources is the goal of ORC systems. This is accomplished by using Therminol in the heat exchange operation of systems with gas streams 450°C (842°F) or higher.
